US-carrier United Airlines is facing major backlash after a video of a man being forcibly dragged off a plane went viral earlier this week. The video shows the paying passenger screaming and dragged down the ailse of the plane and in the process sustaining bloody injuries. 

United CEO Oscar Munoz incited the wrath of the Twitterverse after he in email to employees, said passenger was 'disruptive and belligerent'. Munoz said to United employees that the company could learn lessons from the incident, but said: "I emphatically stand behind all of you."

Last month United Airlines CEO Oscar Munoz bashed Gulf Airlines at a public Q&A and said: “Those [Gulf] airlines aren’t airlines. They’re international branding vehicles for their countries,” 

He went on add that Emirates, Etihad and Qatar flights that have only “20 or 30 people” onboard. 

In response, Emirates Airlines responded to the comment.

"Well Mr. Munoz," the video reads. "According to Tripadvisor, the world's largest travel site, not only are we a real airline we are the best airline." The video concludes "fly the friendly skies... this time for real."
