Shangri-La Hotel Doha appoints head pastry chef

Shangri- La Hotel Doha has welcomed Nana Supriatna, newly relocated from Dubai, as its new head pastry chef.

"To have someone with such experience from one of the best hotels in Dubai join the team is incredibly exciting. Chef Nana Supriatna is sure to revitalise the Shangri-La dining experience with his innovative delicious ideas and devotion to pastry as an art,"  Shangri-La Hotel Doha general manager Alex Willats declared.

Supriatna commented: ‘I am incredibly fortunate and delighted to be able to share my craft and expertise with Shangri-La Hotel Doha. I look forward to working with my new team to create a deliciously inspiring dining experience, bringing exciting new methods, dishes and flavours to the cuisine."

Indonesian-born Supriatna had previously served as the executive pastry chef for the Grosvenor House, Dubai since 2005. He majored in hotel management from the Indonesian Tourism Academy, Jakarta, apprenticed at the Intercontinental Hotel Jakarta and was also a scholar at the National Hotel Insititute, Badung, Indonesia, where he majored in food commodities. Supriatna has acquired years of expertise in Arabic and Asian sweets, pastry delicatessen, pastry gourmet, chocolate art and marzipan art.
