Time Hotels' new four-star hotel in Dubai's Al Barsha district, Time Asma Hotel, will aim to be operated by 80% female staff headed by general manager Ghada Mahgoub and will feature dedicated facilities for female travellers, CEO Mohamed Awadalla announced during a press conference at the 2017 Arabian Travel Market (ATM).

Also in attendance at the press conference were Mahgoub, a 20-year hospitality management veteran, and the hotel's owner, Dr. Sheikha Noori Jaber.

"The concept will provide career opportunities for more than 100 women, contributing forward goals set out by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice president and prime minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai, to increase the presence of women in the workplace," Awadalla declared.

He admitted: "It is very difficult to have 100% female staffing although we tried but there are some areas such as in engineering and some in housekeeping where it is challenging to find enough female staff."

"But we will have 100% female department heads, experienced female hoteliers," he said.

"Time Asma Hotel will hold open recruitment for female employees, with training and development offered in-house to support the successful candidates in achieving their career goals," Mahgoub remarked,

Awadalla added:"The hotel is ideal for female business travellers - the numbers of which are increasing."

Mahgoub agreed, saying: "Time Asma Hotel will be ideally positioned to attract the growing number of female visitors to Dubai, whether travelling with their families, friends or alone."

Due to open in Q4 2017, Time Asma Hotel will feature 232 rooms over six floors, a spa, a gym, a swimming pool, jacuzzi, four meeting rooms, a business centre and two restaurants for both female and male guests. Plans are in place for two floor of the hotel to be dedicated exclusively to female travellers, with services run by female-only staff in room service, front desk and guest relations. In-room tablets will be provided to highlight the hotel's selection of services for women, such as in-room beauty treatments and babysitting services. The hotel will also offer options for guests to book women-only taxis and female-dedicated parking spaces.
