In a nod to the initiatives surrounding women in leadership in the global Hilton family, DoubleTree by Hilton Dubai Business Bay operations manager Johanna Suttie has revealed that the property has hit a male-female ratio of 52:48.
She told Hotelier the team worked towards bringing equality and diversity to the team, and now has 31 nationalities on board the property.
Suttie also said that the 48% female colleagues were not just on management level, but team members throughout all the departments.
"Globally now Hilton Worldwide has 46% female team members, and we thought we should aim for that," added Suttie.
The property will open with 146 colleagues, and will eventually rise to about 180 team members.
Venezuelan national Suttie has been with Hilton for 19 years, and in the Middle East for nine, and revealed that the property, scheduled for a summer opening, is going to "offer everything that you want in terms of experiential travel", with a focus on culture, sports, activities, family, and CSR.
