Shangri-La Doha is official hotel partner for wedding exhibition
Shangri-La Hotel, Doha has confirmed to be the ‘International Hotel Partner’ for the 10th International Wedding Exhibition & Fashion Show Doha 2017 (IWED), which is set to take place from tomorrow, May 18 until May 22, at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre.
“Visitors from around the region and beyond will be inspired by the unique creativity offered by exhibitors, whether that is wedding cakes, wedding decorations, or venues. We are happy to be the official hotel partner for this exciting event and look forward to showcasing our own ideas," said Shangri-La Hotel Doha general manager Alex Willats.
As part of Shangri-La’s involvement at IWED, one of the hotel's chefs, Anushka Sampath, will compete in the wedding cake competition. Sampath's creations include ice carvings, sculptures and food decorations. Sampath is the recipient of two gold medals in the 2016 IKA/Olympiade der Köche for his sugar and salt dough skills. He has also received a gold medal for creative design at the Salon Culinaire Qatar 2015 and numerous medals at Hospitality Qatar.
Shangri-La will have its own booth at the exhibition to promote its venues and wedding packages, as well as honeymoon offers at Shangri-La properties in Istanbul, Paris, London; Maldives, Mauritius, Boracay and Penang.
