Dubai-based Amro Khoudeir joins Movenpick's global gen-y team

Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts' Dubai-based digital & distribution director Amro Khoudeir has joined the select group of "generation y" employees and entrepreneurs who are tasked with collaborating closely with the Swiss hotel group's executive team on ideas and initiatives to attract millenial travellers and talent.

An earlier statement from the Swiss operator had said, as previously reported by Hotelier Middle East, that the global team comprises 10 millenials, six of whom hail from the group's various hotels across the world as well as four international entrepreneurs. Khoudeir is the only team member handpicked from the Middle East.

Educated in his native Syria, as well as in the UK and in his current home, Dubai, tech-savvy Khoudeir has a degree in hospitality management and holds professional project management  and Scrum master certifications. He joined Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts in 2014 as director of digital products, launching the company’s new booking engine and mobile website, and has since reimagined the online Mövenpick experience. Today he manages the company’s global digital and distribution teams.

Relishing challenges, preferably one that involves technology, Khoudeir has found his niche in the online world as a digital strategist, creating successful business solutions and online marketing strategies in the hospitality industry over the past nine years.

A futurist with a healthy obsession for the Internet of Things and virtual reality, Khoudeir enjoys online gaming with friends in his spare time, often with a view to mastering a video game and quickly reaching top rankings. But the natural world beckons for him too, with Khoudeir citing that an "ideal" day would include relaxing and playing games with his family at the beach or the park.
