Costa Coffee is supporting the ‘Happiness Is Giving’ campaign launched by the UAE Minister of State for Happiness during the Year of Giving.
Costa customers will be able to gift the value of one of a range of items, including a chocolate bar, espresso, latte or a Frostino to humanitarian organisation, Emirates Red Crescent.
The initiative, which is being rolled out across all Costa stores Dubai this week, aims to encourage customers to get involved with the Year of Giving.
In addition to supporting the Minister of Happiness, Costa UAE has also launched its specially-designed Ramadan cups for the holy month. The yellow cups have been created by London-born artist Ruh Al-Alam, a designer who studied graphic design at Central St. Martins. He learnt the traditional art of penmanship and Arabic calligraphy in Egypt for several years and is known for developing his own calligraphic script styles and innovating with Arabic typography.
Al-Alam’s designs are inspired by the heritage and culture associated with Arabic language, poetry and faith. He added: “I am inspired by the way Arabic forms are elegant and dynamic and how they communicate to everyone, regardless of the fact they can read it or not.”
Costa Coffee opened its first store outside of the UK in 1999, at Dubai’s Aviation Club. Today there are over 150 Costa outlets in the UAE.
