Dubai has launched the region’s first fully integrated wholesale trading city over an area of over 550 million sq ft. The US$1.5 billion (AED5.5b) Dubai Food Park project will serve as a global primary one-stop shop for traders, catering to all wholesale needs.
In a series of tweets, Dubai Media Office announced that the development will serve as a key contributor to the UAE’s strategy of economic expansion and a channel for global trade through its cutting-edge infrastructure and innovative solutions.

The website goes on to add that the development will provide wholesale traders and buyers offerings including, shipping, customs, insurance, warehousing, banking, residential units, hotels, markets and showrooms and support services to ensure efficiency and ease of doing business.
It will be located ten minutes from Jebel Ali Port and Al Maktoum International Airport.
No details were given on when will work start on the project.
Arabian Business reports, in November 2016, Dubai Wholesale City announced the beginning of excavation works at the project after awarding enabling works contract to Port Saeed Transport and Building Contracting Company.
