Dubai-based Al Bustan Centre and Residence organised a blood donation campaign as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme and employee engagement.
Moussa El Hayek, Chief Operating Office, Al Bustan Centre and Residence said: “Over the years, Al Bustan Centre and Residence has implemented various CSR programmes aimed at making a difference to the lives of marginalised communities. As one, blood donation is a noble act that contributes to saving thousands of lives without causing harm to donors."
The campaign, under the hotel's 'Responsible Awareness Programme' that is aimed at supporting various causes, was held at the premises of Al Bustan Centre and Residence in June 2017, where the entire venue for the blood donation was set up by employees. The initiative was very well received by Al Bustan employees, who queued up to have their blood tested before making the donation. Employees likewise helped in filing forms concerning their medical history and underwent assessment for suitability for blood donation such as hemoglobin and blood pressure checks. Various departments of the property including front office, administration, engineering, the health club team, and housekeeping actively participated.
