One&Only Le Saint Géran has unveiled a preview of some of the resort’s new interiors, including new two- and three-bedroom suites and multiple interconnecting rooms when it welcomes guests back at the end of the year following a multi-million dollar investment.

“Our comprehensive redesign will build on what our guests already treasure such as the unrivalled welcome and care of our loyal staff, our extraordinary location and services, but we are also adding even more,” said general manager Charles de Foucault. “Following guest feedback we decided to add more suites, all with private butler service, and more interconnecting rooms, all beautifully-designed to ensure that both new and loyal guests will find the resort to be a true luxury tropical oasis."

The new guest rooms will feature a private balcony or terrace, marble-lined bathrooms with rain showers, and a separate bath opening up to an adjacent dressing space. More than 50 rooms across the resort will be available as an interconnecting option. One-bedroom suites with views over the Indian Ocean, the beach or the lagoon will range in size from 110 to 150 square metres each with a master bedroom, lounge and dining room. Suites located on the ground floor will extend to a private wooden deck with a sofa, daybed, terrace, chairs and table. All suites will feature personal butler service.

The introduction of one, two and three-bedroom suites is a response to the requests by One&Only's loyal guests, especially those who travel with large families. The 190 square metre two-bedroom ocean and beach-front suites will include two bedrooms, three marble-lined bathrooms and two private terraces. The resort will also have four three-bedroom suites, sprawling over 250 square metres, each with a master bedroom, a living room and a location leading directly onto the beach.

Villa One at One&Only Le Saint Géran is a private two-bedroom island home for up to four adults and two children with views over the Indian Ocean. From the entrance guests walk through to an open plan internal dining and lounge area. They can step outside onto the terrace, or wander through the gardens to reach private beach cabanas. There is a shaded private outdoor covered dining area outdoor kitchen and grill overlooking the pool and ocean. Villa One will have its own team of dedicated staff on hand, including a private chef , a 24-hour butler and valet.

One&Only Le Saint Géran will also be unveiling private residences, consisting of secluded villas with private pools with a suite of amenities and resort services.

As part of the refurbishment by the dsgn design firm from South Africa , the resort’s colonial-style architecture will be preserved and will incorporate design references to traditional Mauritian lifestyle and architecture such as local plantation manor houses, sugar cane kilns and palm-thatched roofs. The makeover will focus on showcasing the views and surroundings of the resort, with muted hues of white marble, teak and grey's being used on new furnishings, fabrics and colour schemes.

Once it re-opens, One&Only Le Saint Géran will offer 142 rooms and suites and one villa. All of its restaurants will be redesigned, introducing additional outdoor dining and new dining concepts including a pan Asian experience complete with sushi bar. At the north end of the resort, guests will be able to enjoy a new pool, complete with a new bar and restaurant with an open kitchen. The existing pool will also be renovated, providing guests with the choice of three pools in all, including the secluded spa pool and new peninsula pool to complement the one kilometre-long private beach.

In addition, a new lounge will be introduced, with a bar and entertainment components.  The new recreation centre will become a family-friendly hub, with  'KidsOnly', 'One Tribe for Teens', an indoor and outdoor fitness centre,  a 'spinning' room, tennis courts, 'padel' courts (a first for Mauritius), football playground, mini-golf and more. The One&Only Spa and the water sports centre will also be renovated. Three new meeting rooms will also be added, along with new retail experiences to be revealed.
