As part of the implementation of ‘Responsible Awareness Programme’, Al Bustan Centre & Residence, partnered with Thumbay Hospital to provide insight into the short and long-term issues associated with managing fatigue at work.

The workshop, organised around a series of talks from experts, yielded useful discussion and practical information that has been valued by participants from all departments from engineering, housekeeping, and front office to administration staff.

The talks ranged from ‘Importance of Body and Mind Balance’ to ‘How to Avoid Certain Habits That Engulf Daily Life’, as well as more practical presentations on handling fatigue.

A Thumbay official said that fatigue management is an important way to protect employees and improve productivity. Excessive human fatigue can have significant adverse outcomes on individual safety, health and productivity, as it impacts physical performance. He added that fatigue also impairs mental performance, including alertness, attentiveness, and motivation.

Moussa El Hayek, chief operating officer of Al Bustan Centre & Residence, said: “We are excited to team up with Thumbay Hospital, as the leading academic hospital - as part of the property’s successful Responsible Awareness Programme to address the most pressing issues in society today especially on health, safety and social responsibility.”
