Raffles Dubai appoints new exec pastry chef

Raffles Dubai has appointed Wolfgang Wagenleiter as executive pastry chef, overseeing the dessert and bakery operation at the luxury hotel.

A pastry expert with more than 25 years of culinary experience, Wagenleiter will be responsible for creative menu development as well as the execution of pastry across the hotel’s food and beverage outlets, banqueting, and in-room dining.

Commenting on Wagenleiter’s appointment, Doxis Bekris, director of food & beverage and culinary operations at Raffles Dubai, said: “We are thrilled to welcome chef Wolfgang to Raffles Dubai and we are confident that his drive for results, dynamic personality, technical skills, and innovative ideas will advance our strategy and vision for culinary excellence.”

Having built his culinary career at number of leading five star hotels around the world, Wagenleiter brings to the role many years of pastry expertise. He joins Raffles Dubai from The Meydan Hotel, where he was executive pastry chef from 2015, and prior to this he held roles at Jumeirah Zabeel Saray, Ritz Carlton Sharq Village & Spa, and The Romanos & Westin Costa Navarino.

Wagenleiter studied at the School of Pastry in Vienna and holds a master certificate for food service management from Cornell University New York. An Austrian national, he is fluent in German, English, and Russian.
