China Grill has appointed David Kikillus as chef de cuisine following the departure of Owen Stewart. Starting his career in 1998 as executive sous chef at Weisses Roessl in Austria, Kikillus has climbed the rankings taking on roles at prestigious restaurants across the world to include, Schote, Sol Y Vida and DK Avant-Garde.

Considered an innovative young chef internationally, Kikillus has achieved milestones in his culinary career. His tenure in Germany secured his place in the qualifier of the ‘Chef of the Year’ and throughout his time in Austria he earned a Five-Star Diamond Award while working at Weisses Rössl as executive sous chef.

Kikillus’ most notable achievement to date is his attained Michelin Star at his restaurant Kikillus Restaurant in Ambiente, Germany.

Taking on the role from August 2017, Kikillus, will be responsible for overseeing the 21 strong kitchen team, as well as introducing new dishes to the Asian-inspired restaurant. “I’m thrilled to be working with such an esteemed international brand and I’m looking forward to adding to the culinary diversity that Dubai has to offer,” said Kikillus
