Set to take place on Monday, September 18, the inaugural Gulfhost Awards 2017 will feature The Gulfhost 'Chef Cook-Off'.

Four well-known chefs, each with a notable UAE footprint will be fighting it out in a live and energetic cooking competition. Each chef will be given 30 minutes to create a 'signature' or 'wow' dish - which has to include either lamb or beef.

The competing chefs include: Omnia's Silvena Rowe; Marina Social's Jason Atherton, Ruya Dubai's Colin Clague; and Five Palm Jumeirah's Robert Nilsson.

This will take place on a purpose-built raised cooking station at the Armani Hotel Dubai.

Heinz Beck has been confirmed as one of the judges, with the others to be announced shortly. They will be asked to judge the four dishes without knowing who has created each dish - this will be closely guarded secret until the results are revealed.

Voting criteria will be taste, presentation, and texture-  culminating in awarding the 2017 Gulfhost “Chef Cook off” Award.

GulfHost 2017 is the first dedicated hospitality and food services expo in the Middle East, organised by Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC).
