RoomOperations' mobile app enables real-time translation of guest requests

Diane Fermin Roeder, September 19th, 2017

RoomOperations managing director Erkan Tatlidil revealed during The Hotel Show 2017 that his company's mobile application intended to streamline both front of house and back of house operations has launched 'Cognitive Services' which allows real-time translation of guest requests to staff in the language of their choice.

RoomOperations is a cloud-based hotel mobile application that integrates with a hotel's existing property management system (PMS) that covers all the operational tasks that is required to sustain the management of the hotel. The application covers all aspects from housekeeping, engineering functions such as maintenance, preventive maintenance, inventory control, asset Count, minibar and many more. The application does not require any software or hardware to be installed on the hotel's servers.

Tatlidil said: "Imagine, you walk into your hotel and all your daily operational tasks are ready, housekeeping assignments sent to room attendants, maintenance issues assigned to technicians without doing anything. This application saves time, money, enhances staff productivity and improves guest experience in a hotel with minimal expense."

He continued by saying that a new feature in the application now enables real-time, simultaneous translation of any guest request that is entered into the system into the language of a hotel employee's choice, making the application more user-relevant in markets such as Dubai, where the hotel workforce is frequently comprised of various nationalities who may not have English as a primary language.

The Hotel Show 2017 is taking place September 18-20 at Dubai World Trade Centre, in conjunction with Dubai International Hospitality Week.
