Since its US $19mn (AED 70 million) renovation last year, Shangri-La Hotel Dubai has revealed the completion of a significant part of phase two.

A total of two floors of the hotel’s guest rooms are now available, with the rooms and suites created by international interior designers, Hirsch Bedner Associates.

The designs combine Asian-influenced wooden fixtures and fittings with white, blush and pastel blue soft furnishings, with jewellery-inspired artwork. Each room is situated on the highest floors of the hotel with Horizon Club rooms featuring Club Lounge access, large picture windows and leisure facilities on Level 42.

The redesigned rooms now offer bedside reading lights, to motorised curtains, additional bedside power outlets and Bluetooth connectivity, with guests also able to synchronise their mobile devices with the media hub panel to play music, charge devices and view photos on their personal in-room Smart TV screens.

The refurb took into account creating optimum space; in light of this, the bedside lamps have been converted to wall mounted sconces, whilst bedroom night lights have been integrated with bathroom lighting to enable stumble-free access to in-room amenities in the middle of the night.
