La Marquise International, distributor of professional equipment, F&B products and ingredients in the UAE brought a variety of innovative launches to GulfHost.

Speaking to Caterer Middle East about her thoughts on the inaugural Gulfhost exhibition, La Marquise marketing manager Olga Cassidy said: “We can see that we have quality buyers coming to our stand and it does look promising for us. Usually I say a week after the show is finished I can tell you for sure. And we’ll evaluate the results after that but it does look positive.”

GulfHost also marked the soft launch of Mia, which will be officially released this month.

Cassidy added: “Mia is our own brand featuring pastry, chocolate and gelato and we are very excited to test it in the market. We’re introducing certain products, fillings and mixes which have innovative flavours such as saffron and peach and we’re receiving a good response so far.”

The company’s other innovations were focused on gelato. One of them was gelato pizza. Cassidy explained: “It’s something innovative in its shape but familiar in its taste. We have a machine from Carpigiani which produces a crystallised gelato that comes out as a thick sauce and goes on top of the frozen sponge cake. We freeze it, decorate it and serve it.”

Another launch at the La Marquise stand was GeloLab – a new way of making gelato. According to Cassidy: “You do not need to have a pasteuriser. It works with a batch freezer which, at the same time, can be your display. It’s a combination of three functions in one. With GeloLab you can produce gelato, you can remove the tub and put it in your display. Within 15 to 20 minutes you can produce one flavour of gelato.”
