Radisson Blu Resort, Sharjah has received the Safehotels Certificate Level awarded by Safehotels Alliance AB for its safety measures on the property.

Safehotels Alliance AB, a Swedish company founded in February 2001, is the originator of The Global Hotel Security Standard and provides independently verified security and safety certification for hotels and meeting venues.

It provides safety certifications with regards to hotel facilities and safety services process, procedures, training and management, security equipment, fire equipment fire procedures and training risk prevention, and crisis and recovery management.

”This is another milestone for Radisson Blu Resort, Sharjah adding this achievement to our existing Green Key and HACCP certifications.

“I’m proud of my team for working hard to attain such accomplishments. The safety and security of our guests and employees is our top priority,” said Rabih Zein, general manager, Radisson Blu Resort, Sharjah.

Safehotels has evaluated the hotel’s existing self-assessment internal hotel security programme through monitoring, reviewing, and reporting on the self-assessment hotel database and submittals.

The hotels go through a number of criteria including security equipment, staff awareness and training, fire security, and first aid.

In December 2014, the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group signed an agreement with Safehotels. The agreement made Carlson Rezidor the first major international hotel group using the acclaimed independent certification programme to benefit guests, employees and owners.

To ensure all criteria are met, Carlson Rezidor has worked closely with Safehotels to align the brand expectations and self-assessment programme with the Safehotels standard.

“By reaching the level of Safehotels certification, it shows the hotel focuses on key elements of guest security relating to personal property and has the right response if ever there’s an accident or any kind of emergency.

“The certificate shows the hotel is sincere in its guest’s personal well-being. Being audited and certified yearly by a third party strengthen the value of that communication immensely. The Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group has taken the already high level of internal precautions one step further by signing with Safehotels for a global certification of its hotels”, Hans Kanold, CEO of Safehotels Alliance AB.
