Character-led restaurant, Little Miss India, has launched at Fairmont The Palm.
Little Miss India herself, otherwise known as the fictional character Mohini Singh, takes diners on a journey through her travels, achievements and an eccentric menu in her home. The concept uses a colonial restaurant, lounge bar to tell the character’s personal story, allowing guests to explore the history and diversity of Indian cuisine.
Little Miss India stated: “I invite you all to come and experience my home and discover the true taste of Indian cuisine. Meet my family and friends who will look after you with plentiful food and drinks as you unwind and relax. Remember, my home is now your home...”
An ornately decorated ‘Tribal Art Taxi’ marks the entrance to the space. Guests can then move indoors into the cocktail lounge and the dining room which looks on to an open kitchen where guests can watch the chefs in action.
Focusing on regional Indian flavours, the restaurant and bar menu includes a selection of sharing dishes. All spice mixtures, marinades and pickles are house-made by the mansion’s culinary team using traditional preparation techniques. Signature dishes include the tandoori ran, a marinated leg of lamb slow cooked for eight hours and finished in the charcoal tandoor and dum biryani, basmati rice with saffron and spices slow cooked in a sealed clay pot served to the table. Kebabs from the charcoal tandoor and griddle are also set to be popular before finishing with deserts including stuffed gulab jamun, pistachio kulfi and coconut crème brûlée.
Entertainment will be provided by Little Miss India’s resident DJ from 10.00pm until 1.00am.
