Ibis Dubai Deira City Centre to host 'The Art of Housekeeping' event

Diane Fermin Roeder, November 1st, 2017

Ibis Dubai Deira City Centre will be holding its first 'The Art of Housekeeping' event, a five-day programme which will feature a range of activities and best practices in housekeeping starting from November 2 until November 6, 2017 in the main lobby of the hotel.

The programme aims to showcase the ibis brand's hospitality standards with 'The Art of Making a Bed' demonstration, as well as resetting a room to freshness, as conducted daily by housekeeping colleagues. The team at the hotel will unlock housekeeping tips and share their best practices along with the importance of good housekeeping practices.

AccorHotels Middle East and Majid Al Futtaim, the owning company of Ibis Dubai Deira City Centre, have designed the event to engage with participants and guests in a quality assurance environment.

The event will include a showcase in ibis comfort bedding with a well-designed bed base, generous pillows and a soft, cosy duvet. The programme will also serve to highlight the materials that make an ibis guestroom which meet eco-responsible standards, such as energy-saving lighting, water flow regulators to reduce water consumption and eco-label hygiene products, including soap.

'The Art of Hospitality' programme also aims to reinforce engagement and connectivity between the housekeeping department and guests. Often referred to as the ‘heart of the house’ or the ‘back bone’ in operations, according to a statement from the hotel, the housekeeping department at ibis Dubai Deira Centre has made over one million beds a year since the hotel opened in 2008. This translates into an average of 20 beds per housekeeper each day.
