InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) and Oman Tourism Development Company (OMRAN) have opened Crowne Plaza Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre in Muscat, marking the second Crowne Plaza in the capital and the fifth in Oman.

The 296-room hotel is located 10 minutes from the new Muscat International Airport and is a part of the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC) project, situated in phase one of Madinat Al Irfan. In addition to being able to use OCEC’s 22,000m² of exhibition space, the hotel overlooks a natural waterway and parklands, a wadi, and a nature reserve.

Other facilities include two pools, a children’s playground, a fitness zone, three meeting rooms and an independent function centre, which includes a ballroom with a terrace, ideal for weddings and other social functions.

Crowne Plaza Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre also offers five dining options including Mosaic, that offers an all-day menu and Charm Thai, a Thai concept. Additionally, guests can enjoy Belgian food and beverage in a traditional Belgian setting at Le Petit Belge or have cocktails by the poolside, or explore the offerings in the lobby of the hotel.

IHG currently has 291 hotels across six brands in AMEA, including InterContinental, Crowne Plaza,  Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Hotel Indigo and Staybridge Suites with a further 148 hotels in the development pipeline due to open within the next three to five years.
