Hilton will now let its 66 million Hilton Honors members redeem points on Amazon.com. It is the first hotel brand to team up with e-commerce website Amazon.
Hilton’s senior vice president and global head Mark Weinstein says it’s a move to offer its customers more flexibility.
"At Hilton, we are always looking for ways to deliver unique experiences to customers. By teaming up with Amazon, we are able to offer our Hilton Honors members yet another choice in how they redeem their Hilton Honours Points," Weinstein said in a recent release.
Amazon payment products vice president David Williams said, "Amazon Shop with Points gives our members greater flexibility with their points and the chance to offer more of what matters most to our Hilton Honors members."
The new benefit is available to all eligible Hilton Honors Members and is free. To shop with the points, members need to complete a one-time transaction linking their Hilton Honors account to their Amazon.com account. Once linked, members can choose the amount of points they wish to redeem at the checkout.
"Amazon continuously strives to delight our customers with new paying experiences and we are pleased to launch this new program with Hilton Honors," Weinstein further added.
Amazon shop with points joins three other new Hilton Honors benefits added this year: points pooling, diamond status extension and points & money rewards.
