Burj Rafal Hotel Kempinski, Riyadh appoints new GM

Burj Rafal Hotel Kempinski in Riyadh has appointed Christian Ruge as the new general manager. Ruge brings 26 years of hospitality experience with him to his new role.

Ruge started out his career in hospitality with InterContinental Frankfurt in Germany and later served in in revenue, front office and executive office operations in New York and Germany.

Later on, Ruge worked with Sofitel brand of hotels from 2004 to 2012 in Germany, Poland and Egypt, where he worked in several general manager positions. In 2012, he joined Kempinski as a hotel manager for Kempinski Hotel Airport in Munich, Germany, in 2014, he joined as general manager at Kempinski Hotel Taiyuan, China and most recently, Ruge held the general manager position at Kempinski Hotel Ajman, UAE.

Ruge graduated in 2003 from Cornell University, USA, with certificates in Strategic Management and Rooms Management. He went on to earn a MBA in General Management at the University of Wales/Fern Uni Hagen in 2010.
