Steigenberger Hotel Business Bay welcomed the annual World Art Dubai by associating with ‘Mawaheb From Beautiful People’.

Launched during World Art Dubai 2018, the property joined hands with Mawaheb From Beautiful People in an ongoing partnership.

Brothaus, the hotel’s traditional bakery and bistro is now home to a selection of artwork from one of Mawaheb’s German artists - Vincent Baur. The 22-year old has been a student at Mawaheb for more than five years, and specialises in street art and graffiti. Using masking techniques to create abstract paintings, he is also adept at stenciling and various spraying techniques. His paintings are his interpretations of life, and are also available for sale. Soon to be added is a New York-themed painting inspired by his recent trip to the city.

This initiative represents the first phase of the collaboration between the hotel and Mawaheb, with a host of events being planned for the coming months.

Mawaheb is an art studio for adults with special needs, now known as 'the determined ones' following a directive by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Located in Al Fahidi, Mawaheb welcomes young adults from 16 years of age to develop life skills through art.

"We are so thankful to the team at Steigenberger Hotel Business Bay for this opportunity to showcase Vincent's talent to a larger audience. Brothaus is the ideal venue to have a relaxed coffee and appreciate not just the paintings but also the spirit of determination," said Mawaheb founder and managing director Wemmy De Maaker.

"It is our pleasure to be able to support the immensely talented artists at Mawaheb, and to have Vincent’s stunning artwork displayed at Brothaus. His attitude to his work and to life in general reminds us all that we can overcome any challenge, and this has definitely left us feeling inspired. We invite you to come over, appreciate these beautiful pieces, and share a bit of this joy with us. Getting to know more about Vincent reminds us that thinking local, leads to acting globally, and we are excited to be with him as he continues to grow and gain recognition," said Stephen Meredith, the hotel's general manager, in a statement.
