Coral Beach Resort Sharjah is harvesting an on-site organic garden called “Coralganic”. The hotel plans to use the produce from the garden to offer guests sustainable dining experiences and encourage healthy living.
Through the organic garden, the hotel plans to produce eggplant, spring onions, mustard leaves, pumpkin, mint, tomatoes and more, it said in a statement.
Additionally, the hotel has initiated composting by sending the property’s waste to Sara Landscape Designing and Implementation Services to be converted into fertilisers that is later used for the organic garden.
Commenting on sustainability efforts, Coral Beach Resort Sharjah general manager Haytham Abdul Aziz said: “In addition to all the mentioned services, we are currently following the HACCAP program as per Sharjah Municipality with an ongoing plan of implementing ISO 22000:2005.”
