Steigenberger Hotels expands portfolio in Egypt and Tunisia

Steigenberger Hotels & Resorts, part of Deutsche Hospitality, is expanding its portfolio in Egypt and Tunisia. The hotel brand recently signed an agreement for the Steigenberger Resort Achti in Luxor, Egypt, set to be open for business by Q3 2018. In Tunisia, Steigenberger Marhaba Thalasso opened for business in the Gulf of Hammamet on April 1, 2018.

To be located on the East Bank of the Nile, Steigenberger Resort Achti will offer 281 rooms, suites and bungalows and will feature six food and beverage options. Highlights will also include an outdoor pool with views of the Nile, a separate pool in the bungalow area with a jacuzzi, a business centre, meetings room and a permanent multi-purpose tent for the staging of conferences and banquets, a statement said.

The newly-opened Steigenberger Marhaba Thalasso in Tunisia offers 371 rooms and suites as well as six restaurants and bars. The hotel also features six indoor and outdoor pools, a Thalassotherapy centre, a hairdressing salon, a haman and a sauna. In terms of MICE, the hotel offers six conference rooms. The hotel’s owner and Deutsche Hospitality’s contractual partner is ITT Hotel Corporation of Tunisia, a statement from Deutsche Hospitality noted.

In Tunisia, with the opening of the new hotel, Deutsche Hospitality now operates three hotels including the Steigenberger Hotel Kantaoui Bay and Jaz Hotel Tour Khalef, both located in Sousse. In Egypt, with the signing of the new resort, the hotel company’s portfolio currently includes 14 hotels.
