Kiev hotels are charging an exorbitant 3,500 euros (US $4,200) for a night in a budget hotel during the Liverpool vs Real Madrid Champions League finals on May 26.
AFP reports that some supporters who booked their rooms before the price surge has their reservations annulled. The Liverpool Echo reports that one fan on Twitter shared a photo showing a hotel offering rates of $108 the week before the final – during the Champions League final the price is a staggering $11,674.

The European football governing body UEFA issued a statement to AFP saying fans should just travel to the city for the match and fly back out.
"It is expected that the preferred option for the majority of travelling fans will be charter flights arriving and leaving on the same day," UEFA said.
