Ascott signs second Citadines property in Turkey

Following the signing of Citadines Nivo Istanbul (slated to open in Q4 2019), The Ascott Limited (Ascott) has secured a second property under the Citadines brand in Turkey: Citadines Maslak Istanbul, scheduled to open in Q2 2019.

The newly built serviced residence is in Maslak 1453.  This is the same development as Somerset Maslak Istanbul – Ascott’s first property that opened in Turkey, last year.

Citadines Maslak Istanbul offers 148 apartments, ranging from studios to four-bedroom units, providing kitchenettes, separate living and bedroom areas. Guests can use facilities including gymnasium and residents’ lounge, and being in the Maslak 1453 development the property is surrounded by restaurants and cafes.

The property is located in the city’s major commercial hub, which is home to many multinational corporations, such as Ericsson, Cisco and Ford, as well as educational institutions including Nisantasi University and Istanbul Technical University. Leisure destinations close to the the property include the mall Istinye Park, which offers 291 retail stores and a food bazaar, sports stadium Türk Telecom Arena that houses football club Galatasaray SK; and the Istanbul Sapphire, an integrated development comprising retail and residential components.

“Both Citadines and Somerset Maslak Istanbul will provide the flexibility for short and long staying guests. However, the Citadines brand caters more comfortably for shorter staying guests and the Somerset brand’s services and facilities cater more towards extended staying guests.  We see the two properties complementing the demand of both business and leisure travelers in the area," said ” said The Ascott Limited regional general manager Vincent Miccolis, in a statement.

The latest opening will mark the seventh Citadines property across the MEA and Turkey regio. Ascott’s current presence in the MEA and Turkey region comprises 23 properties across 12 cities in the pipeline and operating: totalling more than 3,300 apartments, driving towards the target of 5,000 units across the Middle East, Africa and Turkey by 2020.
