I have been in the hotel purchasing since April 2003.

What Specific products are you on the lookout for?

We are always looking for products which complement and augment to our standards. We are committed to working with suppliers that best meet the needs of our hotel, our brand and our guests.

What are some of the challenges you face in finance and purchasing today?

Procurement is no longer just about sourcing services and reducing costs. Finding exclusive items and maintaining consistency of quality from vendors is a major challenge. Moreover, suppliers go to different hotels with different prices and if we do not use our negotiation skills and relationship management intelligently, we can lose out on the right price.

Tell us about one of your most successful deals?

Our belief is that every deal done for procurement of products or services is a successful one as long as it meets the standards at the hotel and is materialised within budget.

What does a supplier have to do to impress you?

To really stand out, suppliers must be able to pinpoint features of their product that could be beneficial and need to highlight what sets their brand apart.
