The opening of Me by Melia's Dubai hotel has been delayed to Q4 2019 from Q4 of this year, developer Omniyat said on Sunday. It was originally set to open in 2018.

The development includes office space, a club, several restaurants and a hotel.

Mohammed Hmeid, head of marketing and sales, Omniyat said to HotelierMiddleEast.com in a statement: "The Opus, designed by the late Dame Zaha Hadid, has been an incredible process that has demanded the upmost effort and collaboration from all of our construction teams and partners. The offices and commercial side of the building have been completed for two months and our first clients are moving in. The residences are 80% complete and will be the most sought-after trophy assets in Downtown Dubai when they come onto the market - fully designed by Zaha Hadid. The ME Dubai by Melia will be the final piece in this jaw-dropping jigsaw and is on target to be completed by Q4 2019.”

Stefan Viard, GM of ME Dubai said in a statement:"ME Dubai Hotel launch has been pushed to Q4 2019 due to further constructions, the project is having lots of details that need to be taken into consideration with major attention to details".

Designed by the late architect Dame Zaha Hadid in partnership with luxury developer Omniyat, ME Dubai will be part of the 95-metre high Opus building in the Burj Khalifa district in Downtown Dubai. ME Dubai will consist of 93 rooms and suites, across 19 floors, including the Suite ME, as well as 98 serviced apartments and will be led by GM Stefan Viard.

There are currently ME by Meliá hotels in Miami, Milan, London, Ibiza, Mallorca, Madrid and Cabo, with further openings in Sitges in 2018 and Barcelona in 2019.
