Media One in Dubai launches 'Green Leaf' initiative

Devina Divecha, July 18th, 2018

Media One has launched the 'Green Leaf' initiative, which will offer guests the option to choose whether or not they would like their rooms to be serviced each day.

Upon check-in for stays of two nights or more, each guest will be given a Green Leaf plant pot with five vouchers of AED 25 (US$6.8) each. For every day they don’t use the housekeeping service they will have the chance to redeem one voucher worth AED 25 ($6.8) to spend on food and drinks in Qwerty, Coco, caféM and garden on 8.

Guests will also be able to collect their vouchers for all five days (totalling AED 125 [$34]) and exchange them for a late checkout or airport transfer.

Media One is also a corporate partner of EWS-WWF (Emirates Wildlife Society – World Wildlife Fund) and is working with the society to produce a 'green menu' which will be launched in caféM later this year.

Media One director of marketing & communication Caroline Rowe said in a statement: "When it comes to green initiatives every little bit counts, and a small decision we make each day, like avoiding using the housekeeping service, can lead to a big change."
