Media One has promoted Lynne McGarvey as head of SWAT (Specialists in Welfare & Training), where she will lead the SWAT team and oversee all areas of learning & development, talent management, recruitment and enthusiast welfare.
With more than 10 years’ experience in hospitality management, McGarvey started her hospitality career in food & beverage after earning a BA Honors degree in Hotel & Hospitality Management from Strathclyde University in Glasgow.
In addition to her degree, she holds a CIPD Diploma in HR Practice.
She moved to Dubai in 2010 with Wafi Hospitality and led the team at Carters, following which she was appointed to head the Carluccio’s team at Dubai Mall. McGarvey joined Media One in 2014 as training manager.
In 2016, she was named ‘HR & Training Person of the Year’ at the Hotelier Middle East Awards.
Like others at the Media One team, McGarvey pitches in beyond her role: when Media One catered the bars at the Media City Amphitheatre during RedFest DXB in 2017 & 2018, and the Take That concert, she played a vital part in leading the team and operations.
