Hotelier Middle East Staff, September 20th, 2018

As you read this the editorial team will be sorting through the numerous nominations received for the 18 categories to recognise the efforts of hoteliers from around the region. Ahead of the Bollywood-themed affair on October 24, at Le Méridien Dubai Hotel & Conference Centre, Hotelier Middle East speaks with some of the sponsors supporting the event to find out what they are looking forward to the most.

Gavin Dodd, Managing Director, A. Ronai

Why do you feel it is important to support the Hotelier Middle East Awards this year?

It is extremely important for us as a hospitality supplier to support the industry and give back to those who have supported us throughout the year. A. Ronai has grown as a company along with the entire sector and it’s great that events, such as the Hotelier Middle East Awards celebrate the success of everything the Middle East has to offer.

What is your latest offering for the hospitality sector?

We have expanded our portfolio quite considerably over the last few months, introducing more kitchen equipment by partnering with Nisbets and their Buffalo and Polar ranges of ‘plug and go’ aids and refrigeration. We have also introduced exciting collections from Consul Solar Jar, a solar powered table lamp and Bag Buddy, a novel invention providing the answer to the handbag storage question! In chinaware we have extended our range with Pillivuyt and Geminiano Cozzi porcelain as well as new glassware from Rona and bloomix, offering a unique selection of double walled items.   Comas cutlery has also provided us with the opportunity to complement and enhance our existing Cutlery by Ronai collections.

Alp Aksoy, Director, Hospitality, Africa, ME, and Turkey / Global Strategic

Why is it important for your company to support the Hotelier Middle East Awards this year?

Improvement and progression requires a healthy competitive spirit and inspiration. Hotelier Middle East has created a platform, which benchmarks the industry and provides an opportunity for those people who drive the sector forward to be recognised in front of their peers. This enables our sector to progress faster.

What is your latest offering for the hospitality sector in the region?

At Diversey we hate waste. Whether it is too much packaging or when linen needs to be washed once again, or when staff have to clean what has already been cleaned, or when an opportunity for customer satisfaction is lost to a hair strand.

Using tech to continuously monitor operations is a way to avoid waste, and the path to a more efficient and cost friendly operation. Diversey is launching two platforms for MENA, one under the INTELLI branding, using cloud technology, enabling continuous monitoring of laundry operations (IntelliLinen), or dishwashing (IntelliDish) or when deploying TASKI cleaning machines (IntelliTrail). Another [platform] under the GoodSense branding, using fragrance to complete the guests appreciation of cleanliness and add value to the brand to create an ambiance aligned.

Stephen Bennett, General Manager, Pulsar Foodstuff

Why do you believe it is important for you to support the Awards this year?

Pulsar Foodstuff has been supporting the Hotelier Middle East Awards for a number of years and have always thoroughly enjoyed the event. It is a great opportunity to meet with existing clients and have the chance to meet some of the new players in the region. It gives us the ability to showcase some of our products in a relaxed, jovial environment. Our team also enjoys the celebrations on the night and can discuss the awards with some of the hotels through the following months.

What is your latest offering for the hospitality sector in the MENA region? Please provide product details.

We are now offering a larger range of PET jars and bespoke boxes which will be extremely beneficial to our export market. Our new containers hold the recommended quantity of product for minibars, but as they are considerably lighter than glass jars they also reduce the transport fees and any additional customs charges. It also offers all our current customers more options for any other promotional activities their hotels may be having.

Following Jung’s successful participation in the Hotelier Middle East 2017 Awards, where we had the opportunity to participate as event and category sponsors, it gave us the confidence to participate again in 2018. This eagerness to continue originates from our belief in Hotelier Middle East as the right platform to reach out to the hotel industry.
