The Westin Abu Dhabi Golf Resort & Spa will be hosting the sixth annual ‘Kilomarathon’ on October 26, 2018. The Kilomarathon is an annual charity evening run at the Abu Dhabi Golf Club.
Commenting on the sixth-year run, The Westin Abu Dhabi Resort & Spa general manager Fred Smits said: “We are delighted to host the 6th edition of our Kilomarathon. This event truly highlights the Move Well philosophy that comes hand in hand with the Westin Brand Mission of rising up and taking charge of your wellbeing. We feel specially honoured to give back to the community by donating all proceeds to Marriott’s ‘Road To Awareness’ campaign that supports Al Jalila Foundation.”
All proceeds from the Kilomarathon directly benefit the Al Jalila Foundation's paediatric programme called Farah, which means ‘joy’ in Arabic. Farah provides medical care for children in the UAE, who suffer from heart disease, cancer, and other chronic diseases. Farah also invests in local medical research of childhood illnesses to discover better treatment options, a statement said.
The event to open to everybody and runners can enter the full kilomarathon (26.2km) or choose from the half kilo. There’s also a children’s lap for the kids. Registration will open at 5:30pm, and races begin at 7:30pm.
