The Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) hosted its first Revenue Optimization Conference (ROC) in Dubai at Madinat Jumeirah on December 4, 2018. The event brought together Revenue Management, Distribution, Sales and Marketing executives in the hotel industry with a programme compiled of education, collaboration and innovation.

The conference was HSMAI’s fifth global event with previous ones held at include The United States, The Netherlands, Singapore, and Brazil.

HSMAI president and CEO, CHA, CHME Robert A. Gilbert said: “The Middle East is one of the most rapidly expanding markets for hospitality—we’re pleased to bring timely insights into revenue optimization to the region’s hotel professionals.”

The event was attended by 200 hotel commercial executives, travel technology and key partners in the hospitality industry. The one-day general session strategy conference featured an opening keynote presentation on global consumer trends by Lorraine Sileo, SVP, research and business operations, of PhocusWright, Inc. Additional programming throughout the day included panels on pricing strategy, digital marketing, key revenue management topics, and did not miss on covering MICE and the value proposition of hotel restaurants and bars.

Commenting on the event, HSMAI Middle East Chapter managing director Mona Faraj said: “HSMAI is committed to growing business for hotels and their partners, and we are the industry's leading advocates for intelligent, sustainable hotel revenue growth.
