Saudi Arabia has joined forces with the  Elaf Group, which recently organised a series of promotional tours to several countries as part of its commitment to support Saudi Arabia, with more tours in the pipeline.

The series of  tours, or roadshows, organised by the Elaf Group showcased a wide range of services and tourism programs available in Saudi Arabia, which has its sights set on attracting more than 30 million pilgrims by 2030. The roadshow is also set to go on tour further afield to Turkey, Egypt, Morocco and Indonesia in order to promote Saudi Arabia’s key services and tourism promotions, including event facilities, hotels and religious tourism packages.

This follows on from news reported by Hotelier that hotels in Mecca are currently under pressure. Bloomberg said this was indicative of a slowdown in real estate investment in the holy city. This comes at a time when one such real estate firm Jabal Omar’s holdings, which includes hotels, has also been under pressure, Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) consultants said.

In its bid to increase tourism in Saudi Arabia, Ziyad Bin Mahfouz, CEO of Elaf Group, said it will continue to create services for visitors in all its hotels in the country, to ensure they have a comfortable experience during their stay, whether for business, tourism or during pilgrimages.

“We constantly work on ways to develop and enhance the efficiency of the tourism sector in Saudi Arabia to enhance the services offered for tourists visiting for religious purposes as well as for business to advance the country’s position on the global tourism map in line with Saudi Vision 2030," he said.
