The Hyatt Regency brand has returned to Kuwait, with the first of two Hyatt properties opening in collaboration with the Tamdeen Group.

Hyatt Hotels Corporation has said in a statement that the opening of Hyatt Regency Al Kout marks the reintroduction of the Hyatt Regency brand to Kuwait. This will be the first of two Hyatt properties in collaboration with Tamdeen Group, the second of which is Grand Hyatt Kuwait, set to open in 2020.

The 200-room Hyatt Regency Al Kout Mall, which includes junior, regency and two-bedroom suites, is located within “the city’s largest waterfront retail and leisure destination.” The hotel also includes a number of food and beverage venues,  meeting spaces, a ballroom  and a fitness centre.

Speaking about the opening, Fadi Akeel, general manager Hyatt Regency Al Kout Mall expressed delight in being able to now welcome guests to the hotel and working with the Tamdeen Group. “It has been a great pleasure to continue our relationship with the Group and we look forward to continued success,” he said.

Tamdeem Group chairman Mohammed Jassim Khalid Al Marzouq  said he was “excited to welcome the Hyatt Regency brand back to Kuwait. “We are certain that the Hyatt Regency brand, known for its superior facilities and seamless service, will resonate with business and leisure travelers visiting Kuwait, and look forward to our continued collaboration and future openings in this dynamic city.

The Tamdeen Group is one of the largest privately held conglomerates in Kuwait, according to the statement. It also mentioned that the Hyatt Regency Al Kout Mall is being developed by Manshar Real Estate Company, in which Tamdeen holds full interest. Hyatt Regency Al Kout Mall will be another flagship asset besides Grand Hyatt Kuwait in Tamdeen Group’s hospitality portfolio.
