Winners of the The Time Out Dubai Restaurant Awards 2019 were revealed on February 20 at the JW Marriott Marquis Dubai, with many hotel-based restaurants winning big.

Il Borro Tuscan Bistro, located within Jumeirah Al Naseem, won Time Out Dubai's Restaurant of the Year for the second consecutive time.

Other hotel-based winners - whether operated by the hotel or leased out to third-parties - included: La Cantine Du Faubourg within Jumeirah Emirates Towers (Best French); Tomo, Raffles Dubai (Best Japanese); Tong Thai, JW Marriott Marquis Dubai (Best Thai); Choix Patisserie and Restaurant par Pierre Gagnaire, InterContinental Dubai Festival City (Best Afternoon Tea); Key West, Nikki Beach Resort & Spa Dubai (Best Outdoor); The Eloquent Elephant at Taj Dubai (Best Pub Food); Black Tap at the Jumeirah Al Naseem (Best North American & Caribbean); The Penthouse at Five Palm Jumeirah (Best Bar Food); Traiteur at the Promenade, Park Hyatt Dubai (Best Brunch); Rüya at the Grosvenor House (Best Romantic); and Opa at the Fairmont Dubai (Best Fine Dining Newcomer).

The awards recognised restaurants in 25 categories, from Asian to Steakhouse, Afternoon Tea to Budget, with venues commended for their brilliant food, top-notch service and superb settings.

An official statement from sister title Time Out Dubai noted: "All restaurants are reviewed anonymously by the Time Out Dubai team throughout the year, with a stringent process to ensure the very best in the city is recognised. The awards are not affected by any external influences and entirely based on experiences. You can read more about the judging process and criteria here."
