S.Pellegrino goes it alone

International water brand S.Pellegrino was a big hit as a solo artist at this year’s Gulfood, having invested in its own stand for the first time.

S. Pellegrino and Acqua Panna area manager - Middle East, Africa, Russia and CIS, Sandra Husseini, explained: "This year I decided S.Pellegrino should have its own stand at the exhibition, for the simple reason that the brand is becoming bigger across the region.

"Gulfood is not only an exhibition for the local market, but for the GCC market and beyond; it was important to have a place for existing and new customers to come and see us on our own.”

The brand has participated at previous Gulfood exhibitions with its distributors, Horeca Trade, and last year with parent group Nestle Waters – but the individual stance taken by Husseini this year appears to have paid off.

"I met potential distributors in Iran and Syria ― markets we are looking to break into,” she confirmed.
