Grand Millennium Dubai’s environmental drive awarded

Grand Millennium Dubai, a 5-star property located in Barsha Heights, has been recognised for its commitment towards the protection and preservation of the environment.

The property received the CSR Environmental Award from the Emirates Environmental Group (EEG) during the 22nd Annual Corporate Gala Dinner, held under the Patronage and in the presence of H.E. Eng. Sheikh Salem Bin Sultan Bin Saqr Al-Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Civil Aviation, Ras Al Khaimah.

Oussama Chalak, general manager of Grand Millennium Dubai, who offered his thanks to EGG, said: “Our commitment to respecting and protecting the environment, and the local community, inspired us to participate in different local and national environmental programmes.”

In a statement, Feras Al Sadek, marketing in charge of Grand Millennium Dubai, noted that social and environmental causes are the property’s top priority.

“We will always love to support any CSR initiatives organised by the UAE and other organisations,” he said.

Grand Millennium Dubai participates in local and national environmental awareness events. These include Clean up the World, Beat Diabetes Walk, Earth Hour and the Taddamon programme, which were launched by the Millennium Hotels and Resorts Middle East Africa to encourage guests staying at participating Millennium hotels the option to donate AED 5 ($1.36) to the non-profit organization.

The Group recently presented a cheque donation of AED 50,633 ($14.700)  to Al Jalila Foundation to help fund its medical research, the hotel said in a statement.
