According to OYO officials, the company also has a  24x7 OYO Safety Response Team (SRT) that will assist customers. If need arises, the app will also initiate a call.

How does the SOS-button function?

According to the company, on tapping the SOS button, a trigger is generated to alert OYO's 24x7 Safety Response Team (SRT) along with details about the guest, booking, location and emergency contact.

Guests are also given two options – to contact SRT or call the police.  Users can opt for both the options depending on how serious the situation is.  If a guest chooses to call the police, the response team is notified and they respond to each case while also informing the relevant authorities.

OYO also has an additional on-ground support team that co-ordinates with partners including the local OYO AGM/Captain, OYO's contracted private security firm and local hotel staff to touch base with the guest and resolve the issue within 35 minutes.
