UAE, Oman and Kuwait have all banned the Boeing 737 after an Ethiopian Airlines plane flying towards Addis Ababa crashed, killing all 157 on board.

 

This was the second fatal accident involving a Boeing 737 Max 8 in five months. The previous accident occurred when a Lion Air Flight 610, scheduled to fly from Jakarta to Pangkal Pinang, crashed killing all 189 passengers on board.

According to Dubai Media Office, “Following the directive issued by the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) flydubai’s fleet of 11 Boeing 737 MAX 8 and 2 Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft have been grounded.” 

Several other countries, USA, China, Australia and Singapore have banned the Boeing 737.

A statement by Oman’s  the Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) read, “PACA is temporarily suspending operations of Boeing 737 MAX aircraft into and out of all Omani airports until further notice.
