Emirati artist Ashwaq Abdulla recently showedcased her work at Saadiyat Rotana Resort & Villas on Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi. Proceeds from artwork sold were donated to the Beit Al Khair Society, which helps “in alleviating the hardship of their fellow citizens.”

Artwork from the show, which was inaugurated in the presence of Her Excellency Noura Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development,  was displayed around the resort and depicted the heritage and landscape of the island.

Speaking about the collaboration, Shaikha Al Nowais, vice president - owner relationship management of Rotana, said: “The artistic process in this case was a symbiotic one, with the property itself inspiring Ashwaq, who then translated this into breath taking pieces that will spark the desire to explore within our guests.”

"Nature is in the DNA of the resort," she added.

Ashwaq also created a commemorative piece for the resort, in conclusion of the ‘Year of Zayed’, and making way for ‘Year of Tolerance’, the hotel said in a statement.
