Cedric Scherer, general manager of City Sightseeing Dubai talks about the company’s latest products, including the “Pearl Experience” where guests can try their luck looking for pearls. Here’s why Scherer believes that the company’s products are essential to the hospitality industry

What is your new launch/product for this year?

With our ‘Hop On Hop Off’ bus tours, City Sightseeing Dubai acts as connector for the various points of interest across Dubai, offering great value for money for tourists wanting to discover this ever-evolving city. We offer multilingual and exclusive kids commentary across our fleet of 20 double decker buses.

This year we have been busy updating the commentary to keep up with the city’s evolution, introducing Korean to the existing languages and revamping our free tourist map.

We are continuously tapping into Dubai’s latest attractions to enhance visitors’ experience, and this year we’ve added “The Flying Cup”, a Dubai Canal Cruise, and the “Pearl Experience” on board the Dhow Creek Cruise, all of which are free inclusions in our multi Day value passes.

Can you share more about this new product: details, specs, USPs?

The Pearl experience provides a historical insight about what pearl diving was in the region, and customers can even try their luck opening oysters looking for the little white treasures! Departing every hour from Al Seef on the Creek, it complements the beautiful heritage destination developed at the heart of Dubai.

At the other end of the Creek, the one-hour Dubai Water Canal Cruise from Festival City takes the passengers past the dhow yard of Al Jaddaf, into the man-made Business Bay waterway showcasing the skyline of Downtown Dubai as well as new residential areas with marinas and floating homes. When exploring the Dubai Marina area, our guests have the opportunity to soar 40 metres up in the sky with the Flying Cup, enjoying panoramic views of JBR, Bluewaters and Palm Jumeirah islands.
