Mango Tree branches out in Middle East

Thai restaurant brand Mango Tree is preparing to open several other outlets for the Middle East, following the success of its recently-opened Dubai restaurant.

“The next Mango Tree will be in the new Mirdif City Centre Mall, so a non-alcohol outlet,” revealed Dubai restaurant manager Stuart Dunn.

“We’re also in conversations for an outlet at the Qatar Pearl development and we have had quite a few other enquiries from other businesses in other countries, including Saudi Arabia.”

Dunn said the latest outlet, which opened last summer at Dubai’s Souk Al Bahar, had not felt any negative impact from the economic downturn.

“We are not short of business here at all; in fact, we are already up 20% on last month and have strong bookings for next month too,” he said.

“Admittedly spend per head seems to be lower, but customers are still coming,” he added.

“And we expect business to become even stronger after Ramadan.”
