Paris is coming, but she's not staying at Hilton

Paris Hilton is not staying at one of the two Hilton hotels in Dubai when she lands to shoot her new show, Paris Hilton’s My New Best Friend Forever.

Rumour has it that Paris, along with her entourage and family will be staying at the InterContinental Dubai Festival City for a month of paparazzi, parties and tryouts to be her new best friend.

My views on the importance of this trip are neither here nor there.

I doubt I’m Paris’ target audience and I have little doubt that even if we got along amicably we wouldn’t end up being best friends forever as my best friend is Steve.

Steve and I have been through many trials and tribulations over the last 20 years and it would be hard to replace him after a five minute interview with the Hilton heiress.

However, what I would like to know is why the Hilton crowd is not staying at one of the Hilton properties.

Surely they are an extension of the brand and if they don’t stay in the hotels it is not a good endorsement?

Having been in both Hiltons I would like to say that there are no reasons in terms of hotel standards why they would not stay there.

However, I am a fan of the InterContinental, its eateries and its incredibly polite and helpful staff, but once again, that isn’t to say the Hiltons don’t tick these boxes.

If anyone knows the reason please let me know — whether it’s a deal struck between promoters, Paris needs to be near a mall or whether the Hiltons were fully-booked during her stay.

Either way, I would have thought a Hilton should stay at a Hilton whenever possible.

If I went home and started staying with the neighbours, I know people would be asking questions about the standard of my own house.

STOP PRESS: Paris’s boyfriend Doug Reinhardt, who was set to produce the show in Dubai, has split with Paris! The show’s future has been cast into doubt as she may be too heartbroken to appear. It looks like the potential new best friends will have their work cut out if she does make it out to Dubai.
