Almost half (42.2%) of UAE hoteliers believe they can expect no rise over the next 12 months, with 33% of those saying that their companies or hotels have already announced pay freezes.
This information comes from Hotelier Middle East’s very own Salary Survey 2009, available for hoteliers from all across the region to take online for the past six weeks.
These results may not come as any surprise in light of current economic conditions, but what does shock is that a massive 29.8% of those working in the UAE’s hotels claim that they expect a pay rise of 10% or more in the next year.
One major positive for the UAE hospitality industry is that just 3% think their salary will actually fall over the next 12 months.
