Raffles Dubai outlet Fire and Ice has been awarded a ‘Best of Award of Excellence’ in Wine Spectator’s Restaurant Wine List Awards 2009.
The awards are designed to recognise restaurants with well presented wine lists relevant to the outlet’s cuisine offering.
Raffles Dubai head sommelier Nicholas Murcott commented: “I am thrilled with this award, as this achievement adds to the many successes of Fire and Ice.
“It is a true testament of the team’s continued efforts in striving to provide an exceptional dining experience for our patrons.”
In order to qualify for the wine accolade, an outlet’s wine list must show complete, accurate wine information, as well as include vintages and appellations for all available selections.
The stringent rules surrounding entry onto the list include ensuring all producer names and spellings are correct — each wine list considered for an award is also judged on its appearance and presentation.
The awards are broken down into three sections — Award of Excellence, Best of Award of Excellence and Grand Award.
The 2009 edition of Wine Spectator’s Restaurant Wine List Awards encompasses more than 3800 restaurants worldwide.
