UAE tourists to land on water

Furjairah-based charter airline Abulhoul Aviation, which was launched during the Eid weekend, is set to begin operations in January next year.

The airline will carry tourists in and around the UAE using a Cessna 206 Station Air, an aircraft that utilises special floats in order to land on water.

The firm’s first flight will be from Emirates Palace, Abu Dhabi, to Fujairah International Airport in an aircraft that can carry up to five passengers.

According to Gulf News, Abulhoul Aviation chief executive Ahmad Abulhoul commented: “This will be the birth of the first domestic airline service in the UAE linking the East Coast with the capital.

"Our prices will be attractive to our customers too," he added.

The company is planning to gradually build up its assets from one aircraft and hopes to increase its routes to destinations across the GCC.

Fujairah International Airport general manager Khalid Al Mazroui remarked: “We will provide all assistance and services to make such operations very successful.

“This is part of our marketing strategy to attract different companies and operations to Fujairah International Airport.”
