The Burj Dubai opens today and HME.com has compiled 10 fascinating facts on the record-breaking project:

828 - The Burj Dubai is 828 metres tall and features more than 160 floors. The world's previous tallest building the Taipei 101 stands at 508 metres.

95 — The spire at the top of the tower can be seen from 95kms away.

22 million — A huge 22 million man-hours of labour went into the construction of project.

57 — The total number of elevators in the building.

504 — The Burj Dubai's main service lift has a capacity of 5500kgs and travels a vertical distance of 504 metres.
